މި ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި ވުޒާރާގެ  ފަރާތުން ސްޓޭޓް މިނިސްޓަރ މުޙައްމަދު މުއްޠަލިބާއި ސްޓޭޓް މިނިސްޓަރ އާމިނަތު ޙުސައިން ޝަރީފް ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގެންނެވިއެވެ. އަދި މަޑަވެލި ކައުންސިލްގެ ރައީސް އާއި ކައުންސިލްގެ އިސްބޭފުޅުން ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގެންނެވިއެވެ.

މި ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި މަޑަވެލީގެ މަސްވެރިންނަށް ދިމާވެފައިވާ ގޮންޖެހުންތައް ކައުންސިލުން ހިއްސާކުރެއްވިއެވެ. މީގެ ތެރޭގައި އައިސް ލިބުމުގެ ދަތިކަން ޙައްލުކުރުމަށް ރަށުގައި އައިސް ޕްލާންޓެއް ޤާއިމުކުރުމުގެ މުހިންމުކަމާއި، ވަދު ކަނދުފަތި މަރާމާތުކުރުމުގެ ކުރުން ވަނީ އެދިފައެވެ.

މީގެ އިތުރުން މަސްވެރިންނަށް ލޮނުފެނުން މަސް ފިނިކުރާ ނިޒާމު ގާއިމުކުރުމުގެ (އާރް.އެސް.ޑަބްލިއު)  ލޯނު ލިބުމުގެ މަގު ތަނަވަސްކޮށްދިނުމާ ގުޅޭގޮތުންވެސް މަޝްވަރާކުރެވުނެވެ.

މި ކަންކަމަށް އަވަސް ޙައްލެއް ހޯދުމަށް ދެފަރާތުން އެއްބަސްވެ، ކުރިއަށް އޮތްތަނުގައި މިކަމާ ގުޅޭގޮތުން އިތުރަށް މަސައްކަތްކުރުމަށް ނިންމެވިއެވެ.

Ministry Senior Officials Meet with GDh. Madaveli Council to Address Challenges Faced by Fishermen.

Senior officials from the Ministry met with the Island Council of GDh. Madaveli to discuss key challenges affecting the local fisheremen.

The meeting was attended by State Minister,  Mohamed Mutthalib and State Minister Aminath Husain Shareef, from the Ministry. The President of the Madaveli Island Council, Mr Fiyaz Hassan, along with senior council members, also participated in the discussions.

During the meeting, the Council presented the challenges currently faced by fishermen in GDh.Madaveli. These included the need to establish an ice plant on the island to resolve the shortage of ice required for preserving the daily catch, and the necessity of repairing damaged Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) located near GDh. Madaveli.

Furthermore, the Council emphasised the importance of facilitating access to loans for fishermen to establish Refrigerated Seawater (RSW) systems, with the aim of modernizing fishing operations and improving catch quality.

"އަގުއެއްކުރި މަހުގެ އުފެއްދުން ތައްޔާރުކުރުމާއި ކުދި ވިޔަފާރި ހިންގާ ބެލެހެއްޓުމުގެ" ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމެއް، ފާދިއްޕޮޅު ކައުންސިލްގެ އިދާރާ އާއި މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޯޝަން ރިސޯސަސް އާއި ގުޅިގެން ޅ. ކުރެންދޫގައި 05 އޮކްޓޫބަރު 2025 ވަނަ ދުވަހު ފެށިފައިވެއެވެ. މިވުޒާރާއިން ހިންގާ މިތަމްރީނު މި އޮކްޓޫބަރު މަހުގެ 05 އިން 09 ވަނަ ދުވަހުގެ ނިޔަލަށް ކުރިޔަށް ދާނެއެވެ. މިތަމްރީނުގައި ޖުމްލަ 26 ބައިވެރިން   ބައިވެރިވެފައިވެއެވެ. އެއީ 23 އަންހެން ބައިވެރިންނާއި 03 ފިރިހެން ބައިވެރިންނެވެ.  

މިތަމްރީނުގައި މަހުން ތައްޔާރުކުރާ އަގުއެއްކުރި ބާވަތްތަކާއި ގުޅޭ މަޢުލޫމާތުދީ އަދި ޢަމަލީގޮތުން އެތަކެތި ބައިވެރިން ތައްޔާރުކުރުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ފަހިކޮށްދެވޭނެއެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން ވިޔަފާރީގެ އުޞުލޫން މިފަދަ މަސައްކަތެއްކުރުމަށް ބޭނުންވާ މަޢުލޫމާތާއި ބައެއް ހުނަރު ބައިވެރިންނަށް ދަސްކޮށްދެވޭނެއެވެ.

މި ތަމްރީނު ޕްރޮގްރާމުގައި މަޢުލޫމާތު ދެއްވަނީ މިވުޒާރާގެ ފަންނީ ތިން މުވައްޒަފުންނެވެ.

A training programme on "Value-Added Fish Product Preparation and Small Business Management" commenced on 05 October 2025 in L. Kurendhoo, organised in collaboration with the Faadhippolhu Council Secretariat and the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources. This training programme, conducted by the Ministry, will continue until the evening of 09 October 2025. A total of 26 participants are taking part in the programme, comprising 23 female participants and 03 male participants.

The training programme will provide participants with information on value-added products that can be produced monthly, alongside practical hands-on experience in product development.

Additionally, they will learn essential business fundamentals and specialised skills required for establishing and operating their own business.

The programme is being conducted by technical officers from the Ministry, including the Deputy Director General, Mr Adam Manik, Fisheries Officer, Mr Ahsan Mohamed and Fisheries Officer, Ms Maryam Ruva Rasheed.

Training Programme on Value-Added Monthly Production and Small Business Management in Lh. Kurendhoo 

ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރިކަން ތަރައްޤީކޮށް މަސްވެރިންނަށް ލިބެންޖެހޭ ޚިދުމަތްތައް އެންމެ ފުރިހަމަ ގޮތުގައި ފޯރުކޮށްދިނުމަކީ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުހައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒުގެ ސިޔާސަތުގެ ތެރޭގައި ހިމެނޭ މުހިންމު ކަމެއް ކަމަށް މަސްވެރިކަމާ ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާ ބެހޭ ވަޒީރު އަހުމަދު ޝިޔާމް ވިދާޅުވެއްޖެ އެވެ.

Ensuring Support and Services for Fishermen: Important Policy of the President-  Minister

އ. ދ. ގެ ކާބޯތަކެއްޗާއި ދަނޑުވެރިކަމުގެ ޖަމްޢިއްޔާގެ މެންބަރުން ވުޒާރާގެ އިސްވެރިންނާ ބައްދަލުކުރައްވައިފި

Ministry had a high-level meeting with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) SCOPE Mission (Sustainability, Capacity-building, and Operational Performance Enhancement) to discuss strengthening collaboration on sustainable food systems.

The discussion focused on enhancing collaboration to develop resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems in alignment with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Permanent Secretary Dr. Aminath Shafia highlighted the current challenges facing the Maldives, future areas of work, opportunities to enhance collaboration, and areas of assistance that the country can access through FAO's support.

The Permanent Secretary was accompanied at the meeting by Director Fiuna Rashid from the Ministry.

The FAO delegation included Xiangjun Yao, Director (OSL), accompanied by Victor Mol, Policy/Programme Officer (FAORAP), Nalin Munasinghe, Assistant FAO Representative (FAOLK); and Adriano Spinelli, Policy Specialist SCOPE – SIDS (DDC).

ށ އަތޮޅު ބިލެތްފަހި ކައުންސިލާ ވަނީ ވުޒާރާގެ އިސްބޭފުޅުންނާ މިއަދު ބައްދަލުކުރައްވައިފި އެވެ. މި ބައްދަލުވުން ކުރިއަށް ދިޔައީ މިއަދު މަސްވެރިކަމާ ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާ ބެހޭ ވުޒާރާގައެވެ.

ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު ވިދާޅުވެފައިވަނީ،  ތ. ހިރިލަންދޫގައި ޤާއިމުކުރުމަށް ހަމަޖެހިފައިވާ ކޯލްޑް ސްޓޯރޭޖްގެ މަސައްކަތް އަންނަ އަހަރުގެ ޖަނަވަރީ މަހު ފެށޭނެ ކަމަށް ވިދާޅުވެއްޖެއެވެ.

ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ އިތުރަށް ވިދާޅުވެފައިވަނީ، ހިރިލަންދޫގައި ޤާއިމުކުރާ ކޯލްޑް ސްޓޯރޭޖްގެ މަސައްކަތް އަންނަ އަހަރުގެ ޖަނަވަރީ މަހު ފައްޓަވާނެ ކަމަށެވެ. އަދި މީގެ އިތުރުން އެ މަސައްކަތް ވީހާވެސް އަވަހަކަށް ނިންމަވާނެކަމުގެ ޔަޤީންކަން ދެއްވިއެވެ.

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has formally announced that construction of the cold storage facility planned for Th. Hirilandhoo is scheduled to start in January of the coming year. The announcement was made during the President’s ongoing tour of inhabited islands within Kolhumadulu Atoll, while addressing the residents of Hirilandhoo.

In his remarks, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu highlighted that Th. Hirilandhoo is an island where fishing and fishing-related activities are actively carried out. He stated that the government focus on supporting these sectors.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu further stated that the development of the cold storage facility is consistent with the pledges made during his presidential campaign.

Furthermore, the President indicated that preparations are underway to present the cold storage project to the People’s Majlis. He noted that the initiative has been included in the upcoming budget, and construction is expected to begin following its approval.

In conclusion, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu expressed his commitment to ensuring that the construction of the cold storage facility in Hirilandhoo will progress efficiently and be completed within the designated timeframe.

އެމަނިކުފާނު މިހެން ވިދާޅުވީ ހަތަރު އަތޮޅެއްގެ މީހުން ދިރިއުޅޭ ރަށްރަށަށް މިހާރު ކުރައްވަމުން ގެންދަވާ ދަތުރުފުޅުގައި، މުލަކު ރައްޔިތުންނާ ބައްދަލުކުރައްވައި ވާހަކަފުޅުދައްކަވަމުންނެވެ.

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially announced that construction of a fuel skid in M. Mulah, designed to establish a system facilitating convenient fuel access for fishermen, will commence in January next year.

The President made this announcement during his ongoing tour of inhabited islands across four atolls whilst addressing the residents of M. Mulaku.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu highlighted that Mulaku Atoll holds a prominent position in the fisheries sector. He stated that upon completion of the projects to establish a 30-tonne ice plant, cold storage facility, and fuel skid in Mulaku, the island's fishing sector will be significantly strengthened, thereby contributing to the improvement of livelihoods within local communities. These developments are expected to enhance operational capacity and improve the livelihoods of local communities

The President emphasised that establishing systems to provide easy access to ice and affordable fuel supply is an important pledge he has made. In this regard, he announced that the implementation of a system enabling fishermen to procure fuel at State Trading Organisation (STO) rates has been entrusted to STO, with the project scheduled for completion by March next year.

މ. މުލަކުގައި 30 ޓަނުގެ އައިސްޕްލާންޓާއި 60 ޓަނުގެ އައިސް ސްޓޯރޭޖް ފެސިލިޓީ ގާއިމުކުރުމުގެ އެއްބަސްވުމުގައި 3 ވޭ އެންޓަރ ޕްރައިސަސް ޕްރައިވެޓް ލިމިޓެޑާއެކު މިއަދުވަނީ ސޮއިކުރައްވައިފިއެވެ.

މި އެއްބަސްވުމުގައި ސޮއިކުރުމުގެ ރަސްމިއްޔާތު ބޭއްވުނީ 21 ސެޕްޓެމްބަރ 2025 ވަނަ ދުވަހު މުލަކުގައި ބޭއްވުނު ރަސްމިއަޔާތެއްގައެވެ. މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާއި ބެހޭ ވުޒާރާގެ ފަރާތުން ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ މިނިސްޓަރ އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމެވެ. އަދި 3 ވޭ އެންޓަރ ޕްރައިސަސް ޕްރައިވެޓް ލިމިޓެޑުގެ ފަރާތުން ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ އެ ކުންފުނީގެ ޑިރެކްޓަރ ޑރ. އިކްލީލް ޝަރީފެވެ.

މި މަސައްކަތަކީ، މާލެއަތޮޅު މެރިކަލްޗަރ މަސައްކަތް އެވޯޑު ކޮށްފައިވާ 3 ވޭ އެންޓަރ ޕްރައިސަސް ޕްރައިވެޓް ލިމިޓެޑު ކުންފުނީގެ ސީ.އެސް.އާރް (ކޯޕަރޭޓް ސޯޝަލް ރެސްޕޮންސިބިލިޓީ)ގެ ދަށުން ކުރިއަށްގެންދާ މަސައްކަތެކެވެ. މުލަކުގައި ގާއިމުކުރާ އައިސްޕްލާންޓްގެ މަސައްކަތް 8 މަސް ދުވަހުގެ ތެރޭގައި ނިންމާލުމަށްވަނީ ހަމަޖެހިފައެވެ.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has signed an agreement with 3 Way Enterprises Private Limited for the establishment of an ice production and storage facility in Meemu Mulaku. The facility will have a production capacity of 30 tonnes of ice per day and a storage capacity of 60 tonnes in Meemu Mulaku.

The signing ceremony was held on 21 September 2025 in Meemu Mulaku. The agreement was signed by Minister Ahmed Shiyam on behalf of the Ministry, and Dr Ikleel Shareef, Director of 3 Way Enterprises Private Limited.

The project is being carried out under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme of 3 Way Enterprises Private Limited, the company awarded the Malé Atoll Mariculture Project.

The construction work for the ice plant to be established is scheduled to be completed within an eight-month period, according to the contract.

As part of his official visit to Faafu Nilandhoo, His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the people and local communities. During the visit, the President witnessed the signing of the  agreement between the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources and the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

The agreement provides for the development of infrastructure to support the establishment of a fish processing and canning factory in Faafu Nilandhoo.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Minister Ahmed Shiyam, and on behalf of MTCC by Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Saud. Under this project, MTCC has been assigned the work of land reclamation and harbour development to facilitate the fish processing factory.

This project forms an important part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to advance the Maldivian fisheries sector and to provide fishermen with access to markets at affordable prices to sell their catch, thereby strengthening the national fishing industry and supporting the livelihoods of local fishing communities.

"ނިޔަމި" ކޯސް (ލެވެލް 1 ) ގެ ތަމްރީނު ޕްރޮގްރާމް، މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް 2025 ފާހަގަކުރުމުގެ ހަރަކާތްތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން، ރ. ދުވާފަރުގައި މިއަދު ރަސްމީކޮށް ފަށައިފިއެވެ. މި ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމް  ކުރިއަށްދާނީ 17 ނޮވެމްބަރު އިން  20 ނޮވެމްބަރު 2025 ވަނަ ދުވަހުގެ ނިޔަލަށެވެ.

ޖުމްލަ 25 ބައިވެރިން ބައިވެރިވެފައިވާއިރު، "ޒުވާނުން މަސްވެރިކަމަށް އަހުލުވެރިކުރުމުގެ ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމް" އަށް ހޮވިފައިވާ 5 ބައިވެރިންވެސް ދަނީ މިކޯސް ފުރިހަމަ ކުރަމުންނެވެ.

މި ތަމްރީނު ޕްރޮގްރާމް ގައި ކިޔަވާދެއްވާނީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ގައުމީ ދިފާޢީ ބާރު (އެމް.އެން.ޑީ.އެފް)، ކޯސްޓްގާރޑުގެ ކަމާބެހޭ ފަންނީ މާހިރުންނެވެ.

Navigation Course (Level 1) training programme officially commenced today in R. Dhuvaafaru as part of the activities marking Fishermen’s Day 2025.

The programme will conduct from 18th to 20th November 2025, offering participants essential skills in maritime navigation.

A total of 25 participants are enrolled in the training, alongside five additional participants selected from the “Program for Maldivian Youth in the Fishing Industry” initiative.

The training is being conducted by Technical Instructors from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coastguard, ensuring high standards of expertise and practical knowledge for all attendees.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has conducted its first stakeholder consultation for the development of the Fisheries and Ocean Resources 20-Year Master Plan (2025–2045).

The consultation brought together representatives from key government ministries, state agencies, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations to discuss priorities, challenges, and opportunities within the fisheries and ocean resources sector.

The session aimed to gather valuable insights and recommendations to inform the formulation of a comprehensive strategic framework for the sustainable management and development of fisheries and ocean resources in the Maldives over the next two decades.

މިނިސްޓަރ އޮފް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޯޝަން ރިސޯސަސް، އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމް، މިދިޔަ އާދިއްތަ ދުވަހު ސިނޯމެކް ސީއެމްއީސީ ގްރޫޕްގެ ރައީސް ފަންގް ޔަންޝުއީ އަދި އެ ގްރޫޕުގެ ޒިޔާރަތްކުރާ ވަފުދާއެކު ބައްދަލުކުރައްވައި، އައްޑޫ ސިޓީގައި މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ބަނދަރެއް ތަރައްޤީކުރުމާ ގުޅޭގޮތުން މަޝްވަރާކުރައްވައިފިއެވެ. މި ބައްދަލުކުރެއްވުން ބާއްވާފައިވަނީ މި މަޝްރޫޢުގެ މަސައްކަތް އަވަސްކޮށް، ވަގުތަށް ނިންމުމަށް އިސްކަންދިނުމުގެ ގޮތުންނެވެ.

ސީއެމްއީސީ ގްރޫޕްގެ ރައީސް ފަންގް ޔަންޝުއީ ވަނީ މި މަޝްރޫޢަށް މިނިސްޓްރީއިން ދެއްވާ ގާތް އެއްބާރުލުމަށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރައްވާފައެވެ. އަދި އައްޑޫ ސިޓީގެ އިޖްތިމާޢީ-އިޤްތިޞާދީ ތަރައްޤީއާއި މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ދާއިރާ ފުޅާކުރުމުގައި މި މަޝްރޫޢުގެ މުހިންމުކަން ފާހަގަކުރައްވައި، މި މަޝްރޫޢަށް ސީއެމްއީސީގެ ފުރިހަމަ އިލްތިޒާމް ކަށަވަރުކޮށްދެއްވިއެވެ.

މި މަޝްރޫޢަކީ އައްޑޫ ސިޓީގެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ދާއިރާއަށް ބޮޑު ކުރިއެރުމެއް ގެނެސްދޭނެ، އަދި ސިޓީގެ ރައްޔިތުންނަށް އިޤްތިޞާދީ ގޮތުން ފައިދާހުރި ވަޒީފާގެ ފުރުޞަތުތައް ގިނަކުރާނެ މަޝްރޫޢެއް ކަމަށް ސަރުކާރުން ބައްލަވައެވެ.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam, met with Mr. Fang Yanshui, President of Sinomach CMEC Group, and the visiting delegation to discuss the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Maldives and Sinomach CMEC Group for the development of a fishery port in Addu City.

The meeting focused on identifying strategies to expedite the implementation of the project and ensure its delivery time. President Fang Yanshui expressed his appreciation for the Ministry’s close cooperation and reaffirmed CMEC’s strong commitment to the initiative.

Furthermore, he emphasised the importance of the fishery port in enhancing the socio-economic development of Addu City and strengthening the fisheries sector, a key pillar of the Maldivian economy.

ގއ. ފިޔޯރީގައި ގާއިމުކުރުމަށް ހަމަޖެހިފައިވާ މަސް ފެކްޓްރީއަކީ އެ ރަށާއި ވަށައިގެންވާ ސަރަހައްދުތަކުގެ އިޤްތިޞާދަށް ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ކުރިއެރުމެއް ގެނެސްދޭނެ މުހިންމު މަޝްރޫޢެކެވެ. މި މަޝްރޫޢުގެ ދަށުން ބޭނުންވާ 6.5 ހެކްޓަރުގެ ބިން ހިއްކައި، ފެކްޓްރީއަށް ބޭނުންވާ ބަނދަރު ހެދުމުގެ މަސައްކަތް ސެން އިންޓަރނޭޝަނަލް ޕްރައިވެޓް ލިމިޓެޑާ ހަވާލުކުރެވިފައިވަނީ ކޮންޓްރެކްޓަރ ފައިނޭންސް އުޞޫލުންނެވެ.

މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ސިނާއަތަކީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އިޤްތިޞާދުގެ މައި ތަނބުތަކުގެ ތެރޭގައި ހިމެނޭ މުހިންމު ސިނާއަތެކެވެ. ފިޔޯރީ މަސް ފެކްޓްރީގެ ސަބަބުން މަސްވެރިންނަށް އެކަށީގެންވާ އަގުގައި މަސް ވިއްކުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު ލިބުމާއެކު، ސަރަހައްދުގައި އާ ވަޒީފާގެ ފުރުޞަތުތައް އުފެދި، ރަށުގެ އިޖުތިމާޢީ އަދި އިޤްތިޞާދީ ހާލަތު ރަނގަޅުވެގެން ދާނެކަމަށް ބެލެވެއެވެ.

ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު މި ރަސްމިއްޔާތުގައި ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގަތުމަކީ، ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ފައިދާހުރި ތަރައްޤީގެ މަޝްރޫޢުތަކަށް ސަރުކާރުން ދެއްވާ އިސްކަން ފާހަގަކުރެއްވުމުގެ ގޮތުން ކުރެއްވި މުހިންމު ކަމެކެވެ. މި މަޝްރޫޢުތަކުގެ ސަބަބުން ރާއްޖޭގެ ތަރައްޤީއަށް ފުރިހަމަ ކުރިއެރުމެއް ލިބިގެންދާނެކަމަށް ގަބޫލުކުރެވެއެވެ.

A special ceremony was held today to mark a major milestone in the government’s efforts to accelerate nationwide development. During the event held at Barceló Nasandhura, agreements were signed with private contractors to carry out people-focused projects, strengthening partnerships aimed at driving development across the country.

One of key highlight of the event was the signing of an agreement with Sen International Private Limited for land reclamation and harbour construction in Gaafu Dhaalu Fiyoaree, to facilitate the establishment of a fish processing factory. The project encompasses the reclamation of 6.5 hectares of land and the construction of harbour facilities that are essential to support the factory’s operational requirements.

The Gaafu Dhaalu Fiyoaree fish factory is expected to drive development in the region. It will boost the local economy, create employment opportunities, and provide fishermen with fairer prices for their daily catch. This initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen the fishing industry, which remains a vital pillar of the Maldivian economy.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s participation in the ceremony highlights the government’s emphasis on development projects that enhance the livelihoods of citizens. The fishing industry is one of the main pillars of the Maldivian economy. The Gaafu Dhaalu Fiyoaree Fish Factory is expected to enable fishermen to sell their daily catch at fair prices, create new employment opportunities, and improve the socio-economic conditions of the island community.

ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒުގެ ވަޢުދުފުޅުތައް ތަންފީޒުކުރުމުގެ މަސައްކަތުގެ ތެރެއިން ، ކަންނެލި މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ސިނާޢަތު ތަރައްޤީކުރުމަށްޓަކައި ހުޅުމާލޭގައި ކަނޑައެޅިފައިވާ ބިމެއް، ހައުސިންގ ޑިވެލޮޕްމަންޓް ކޯޕަރޭޝަން ލިމިޓެޑް (އެޗް.ޑީ.ސީ) އިން މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ފިނޭންސް އެންޑް ޕްލޭނިންގ އާ މިއަދު ރަސްމީކޮށް ޙަވާލުކޮށްފިއެވެ.

މި ބިން ޙަވާލުކުރުމުގެ އެއްބަސްވުމުގައި އެޗް.ޑީ.ސީގެ ފަރާތުން ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ އެ ކުންފުނީގެ މެނޭޖިންގ ޑިރެކްޓަރ އަލްފާޟިލް ޢަލީ ޒުހައިރެވެ. އަދި މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ފިނޭންސް އެންޑް ޕްލޭނިންގގެ ފަރާތުން ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ އެ މިނިސްޓްރީގެ ސްޓޭޓް މިނިސްޓަރ އަލްފާޟިލް ޙުސައިން ޝާމްއެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން، މިނިސްޓްރީގެ ފާރާތުން  ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ މިނިސްޓަރ އޮފް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޮޝަން ރިސޯސަސް،  އަހުމަދު ޝިޔާމް އެވެ.

އިސްލާމިކް ޑިވެލޮޕްމަންޓް ބޭންކް (އައި.ޑީ.ބީ) ގެ ފަންޑުގެ ދަށުން، މި ބިމުގައި މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ފެސިލިޓީއެއް ގާއިމްކުރުމަށް މަސައްކަތް ކުރިއަށް ދާނެއެވެ.

As part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's pledges, the Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC) has officially handed over a designated plot of land in Hulhumalé to the Ministry of Finance and Planning. The land has been allocated for the establishment of a Skipjack Processing Facility.

Managing Director Ali Zuhair signed the agreement on behalf of HDC, State Minister Hussein Sham signed on behalf of the Ministry of Finance and Planning, and Minister Ahmed Shiyam signed on behalf of the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources on October 23, 2025.

The facility, which is funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), will establish a skipjack processing facility on the land.

 ލ. މާވަށުގައި 10 ޓަނުގެ އައިސް ޕްލާންޓާއި އައިސް ސްޓޯރޭޖް ފެސިލިޓީއެއް ޤާއިމްކުރުމަށް މޯލްޑިވްސް އިންޑަސްޓްރިއަލް ފިޝަރީޒް ކޮމްޕެނީ ލިމިޓެޑް (މިފްކޯ) އާއެކު އެއްބަސްވުމެއްގައި މިއަދު ސޮއި ކުރައްވައިފިއެވެ. މި އެއްބަސްވުމުގައި ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒު، ލ. އަތޮޅުގެ ރަށްރަށަށް ކުރައްވަމުންގެންދަވާ ދަތުރުފުޅުގެ ތެރެއިން، ލ. މާވަށުގެ ރައްޔިތުންނާ ބައްދަލުކުރެއްވުމަށް ބޭއްވެވި ރަސަސްމިއްޔާތުގައެވެ.

މި އެއްބަސްވުމުގައި ސަރުކާރުގެ ފަރާތުން ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާބެހޭ ވަޒީރު އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމެވެ. އަދި މިފްކޯގެ ފަރާތުން ސޮއިކުރެއްވީ އެ ކުންފުނީގެ ޕްރޮޖެކްޓް ޔުނިޓުގެ މެނޭޖަރ މުޙައްމަދު ޝަމީމެވެ.

މާވަށުގައި ޤާއިމްކުރެވޭ 10 ޓަނުގެ އައިސްޕްލާންޓުގެ މަސައްކަތް ނިމުމުން، އެ ސަރަޙައްދުގެ އަދި މާވަށުގެ މަސްވެރިންނަށް ވަރަށް ބޮޑު ލުއިފަސޭހައެއް ލިބިގެންދާނެއެވެ. ޚާއްޞަކޮށް އެ ސަރަޙައްދުގައި ފަރުމަހުގެ މަސްވެރިކަންކުރާ ފަރާތްތަކަށްވެސް މިކަމުގެ މަންފާ ކުރާނެއެވެ.

 ރާއްޖޭގެ އެކި ރަށްރަށުގައި އައިސްޕްލާންޓުތައް ޤާއިމުކުރުމަކީ މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރާ ފަރާތްތަކަށް އެތައް ގޮތަކުން ލުއިފަސޭހަކަމާއި ފަސޭހަތައް ފޯރުކޮށްދޭނެ މުހިއްމު މަޝްރޫޢުތަކެކެވެ. މި މަޝްރޫޢުތައް ކުރިއަށް އޮތް ދެ އަހަރުގެ ތެރޭގައި ފުރިހަމަކުރުމަށް ސަރުކާރުން ވަނީ އަމާޒުކޮށްފައެވެ.

An agreement was signed today between the ministry and Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) to establish a 10-tonne ice plant in L. Maavah. The facility, which will include 20 - tonne  ice storage units, is set to enhance the efficiency of local fishing operations.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed during a ceremony attended by His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who also met residents of L. Maavah to discuss community developments.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam signed on behalf of the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, And Mohamed Shameem, Manager of MIFCO’s Project Unit, signed on behalf of the company.

The collaboration aims to provide fishermen, particularly those engaged in reef fishing, with greater ease and improved resources. Once operational, the new ice plant is expected to benefit fishermen by ensuring a reliable supply of ice to preserve their daily catches, thereby contributing to overall fish quality and marketability.
