ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއާއި އިންޑިއަން އޯޝަން ޓޫނާ ކޮމިޝަންއާއި ގުޅިގެން، އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުގެ އައްސޭރިފަށުގެ ގައުމުތަކުގެ މެދުގައި މަސްވެރިކަން ރާވާ، ހިންގައި، ބެލެހެއްޓުމުގައި ސައިންސްގެ ދައުރު އިތުރަށް ފުޅާކުރުމާއި އަދި ބެލެހެއްޓުމުގައި އަޅާ ފިޔަވަޅުތަކާއި ބެހޭ ގޮތުން އެއްބަސްވާއިރު އަމަލުކުރާނެ ގޮތްތަކާއި ބެހޭ މެނޭޖްމަންޓް ސްޓްރެޓެޖީ އިވެލުއޭޝަން ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމް މިއަދު ބަޑޮސް މޯލްޑިވްސްގައި ފެށިއްޖެއެވެ.

މިތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމް އިފްތިތާޙް ކޮށްދެއްވީ މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޯޝަން ރިސޯސަސްގެ ޕާމަނަންޓް ސެކްރެޓަރީ ޑރ. އާމިނަތު ޝާފިއާއެވެ.

ޑރ. ޝާފިއާގެ ވާހަކަފުޅުގައި މިތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމްގެ މުހިއްމުކަމާއި އަދި އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުގައި ކުރެވޭ މަސްވެރިކަން ރާވާ، ހިންގައި، ބެލެހެއްޓުމަށް އަޅާ ފިޔަވަޅުތަކުގައި އައްސޭރިފަށުގެ ގައުމުތަކުގެ ބައިވެރިވުން އިތުރުކުރުމުގެ މުހިއްމުކަމުގެ މައްޗަށް އަލިއަޅުއްވާލެއްވިއެވެ. މިފަދަ ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމްތައް ބޭއްވުމަކީ އައްސޭރި ފަށުގެ ގައުމުތައް ބާރުވެރިކުރުމުގައި އިސް ދައުރެއް އަދާކުރާނެ ކަމަށް އުއްމީދުކުރައްވާ ކަމަށްވެސް ޑރ. ޝާފިއާ ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ.

މި ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމްގައި އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުގެ އައްސޭރިފަށުގެ 16 ގައުމަކުން 36 މަންދޫބުން ބައިވެރިވެވަޑައިގަންނަވައެވެ. މިއީ ވޯރލްޑް ބޭންކްގެ އެހީގެ ދަށުން ހިންގާ ޓްރާންސްފޯރމް ޕްރޮޖެކްޓްގެ އެހީގައި ބާއްވާ ތަމްރީން ޕްރޮގްރާމްއެކެވެ.

މި އަހަރުގެ މަސްވެރިންގެ ދުވަސް ފާހަގަކުރުމަށް ހަމަޖެހިފައިވާ ބ. ތުޅާދޫއަށް މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާ ބެހޭ ވުޒާރާގެ ޓީމެއް އިއްޔެ ޒިޔާރަތްކޮށްފިއެވެ.

މި ދަތުރުގައި ބައިވެރިވި ޓީމުގައި ސްޓޭޓް މިނިސްޓަރ މުޙައްމަދު މުއްޠަލިބާއި އެހެނިހެން ފަންނީ ބޭފުޅުން ހިމެނެއެވެ. އެ ޓީމުން ތުޅާދޫއަށް ކުރަމުންދާ ޒިޔާރަތުގައި ރަށު ކައުންސިލާއި، ސްކޫލާއި އަދި ސިއްޙީ މަރުކަޒާއެކު ރަސްމީ ބައްދަލުވުންތަކެއް ބާއްވާފައިވެއެވެ.

A delegation from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources visited B. Thulhaadhoo yesterday to discuss preparations for this year's Fishermen's Day celebrations, which will be hosted on the island.

The visiting team, led by State Minister Mohamed Muhthalib and accompanied by other technical officials, held official meetings with the Island Council, the local school, and the health center during their visit.

The primary focus of these meetings was to discuss and finalize arrangements for the official events related to Fishermen's Day. The team also scheduled meetings with various stakeholders in the fishing industry, including local fishermen, to ensure that all aspects of the celebrations are well-coordinated and inclusive.

The government has confirmed that this year's Fishermen's Day celebrations will be held in B. Thulhaadhoo, emphasizing the island's significance in the Maldivian fishing community.

ލޭނު މަސްވެރިކަމަކީ ކަނޑުރޯދިން ނަފާ ހޯދުމަށް ކުރެވޭނެ މުހިއްމު މަސައްކަތެއްކަމަށް މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާ ބެހޭ ވަޒީރު އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމް ވިދާޅުވެއްޖެއެވެ.

ވަޒީރު މިހެން ވިދާޅުވީ މިއަދު މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާ ބެހޭ ވުޒާރާގެ ފަރާތުން ބޭއްވި ނޫސްވެރިންގެ ބައްދަލުވުމުގައެވެ.

ވަޒީރު ޝިޔާމް ވިދާޅުވި ގޮތުގައި، ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގައި ކުރާ އިޤްތިސާދީ މަސައްކަތް ފުޅާކޮށް، ދިވެހިންނަށް ލިބޭ ނަފާ އިތުރުކުރުމަކީ ރައީސް ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒުގެ ސަރުކާރުގެ ވަރަށް މުހިންމު މަސައްކަތެއް ކަމަށެވެ. މި ގޮތުން، ލޭނު މަސްވެރިކަމަށް އަލުން ހުޅުވާލުމަށް 24 ޖޫން 2024 ގައި ވަޒީރުންގެ މަޖިލީހުން ނިންމާފައިވާ ކަމަށް ވަޒީރު ހާމަކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

"މިކަމުގެ މަސައްކަތް ކުރުމަށް ގަވާއިދު އެކުލަވާލައި، ގުޅުންހުރި ފަރާތްތަކާ މަޝްވަރާ ކުރެވިފައިވާނެ. އަދި ގަވާއިދުގެ ޑްރާފްޓަށްވެސް ޚިޔާލު ހޯދާފައިވާނެ," ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ.

ވަޒީރު އިތުރަށް ވިދާޅުވި ގޮތުގައި، ލޭނު މަސްވެރިކަމުން މިވަގުތު ގައުމަށް ދިމާވެފައިވާ މާލީ އުނދަގުލުގެ ހާލަތުން އަރައިގަނެ، މަސްވެރިކަން ސިންދަފާތު ކުރުމަށް އެހީތެރިވެގެން ދާނެއެވެ. ނަމަވެސް، ލޭނު މަސްވެރިކަމަށް ހުޅުވާލާނީ ހުރިހާ އިޖުރާއަތުތަކެއް ފުރިހަމަކޮށްފައި ކަމަށް ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ.

"ލޭނު މަސްވެރިކަމަކީ ކަނޑުރޯދިން ނަފާ އިތުރު ކުރުމަށްޓަކައި ކުރެވޭ މުހިންމު މަސައްކަތަކަށް ވެގެންދާނެ," ވަޒީރު ޝިޔާމް ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ.

Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, emphasized the importance of longline fishing as a significant income-generating activity for fishermen during a press conference held today by the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources.

Minister Shiyam, stated the government's commitment, under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's leadership, to expanding economic activities in the Maldives and increasing the benefits for Maldivians. As part of these efforts, he revealed that the Cabinet had decided on June 24, 2024, to reopen longline fishing.

"We have drafted regulations and consulted with relevant stakeholders for this initiative. We have also sought feedback on the draft regulations," Minister Shiyam stated.

Minister Shiyam, further explained that the reintroduction of longline fishing would help address the current financial challenges facing the country and diversify our fishing industry. However, he stressed that longline fishing would only be reopened after all necessary procedures are completed.

"Longline fishing will become an important endeavor to increase the benefits from our ocean resources," Minister Shiyam added.

During the press conference, the Minister provided additional details about the reintroduction of longline fishing and discussed the benefits that Maldivians could gain from this sector.

State Minister for Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Dr. Amzath Ahmed, has announced the launch of “Masveringe Dhaftharu,” an official database designed to collect and maintain detailed information about the fishing population in the Maldives. Dr. Amzath made this announcement during an appearance on the Dhivehi Channel's "Havaasaa" program.

State Minister, Dr. Amzath emphasized that until now, there has been a lack of clarity regarding who is actively engaged in fishing activities across the Maldives. He pointed out that information on fishermen has not been systematically maintained or officially recorded. The introduction of the ‘Masveringe Dhaftharu’ aims to address this gap by creating a comprehensive registry that will include data on all licensed fishing vessels operating in the country.

Dr. Amzath elaborated that the registry will not only document the vessels but also contain detailed information about the captains and crew members. The database will track key details such as the dates when crew members embark on and disembark from fishing trips. Additionally, any transfers of crew members between vessels will be recorded in the system, ensuring that all changes in personnel are accurately reflected.

Describing the ‘Masveringe Dhaftharu’ as a vital tool for identifying and recognizing the nation's fishermen, Dr. Amzath highlighted the importance of this initiative as a key presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. He explained that the President’s policy is to ensure that all fishermen are officially recognized by the state and registered within a state institution.

Dr. Amzath assured that once the registry is fully operational, it will provide the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources with complete and up-to-date information on all fishing vessels, their captains, and crew members. This initiative is expected to enhance the management and support of the fishing industry, aligning with the government’s broader goals of strengthening the sector.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam inaugurated the 'Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystems Project Phase 2' in Lhaviyani Atoll, Naifaru today.

Speaking at the official inauguration ceremony, Minister  emphasised the significant role of the project in empowering fishermen for sustainable fisheries management. Additionally, Minister expressed gratitude to the project partners BOBP-IGO and IUCN for their invaluable support in initiatives that align with key government policies.

The workshop was co-organised with the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment, and Energy, the IUCN Maldives, and the Bay of Bengal Programme Inter-Governmental Organisation.

The workshop was attended by Yaseen Abdullah, MP of Naifaru Constituency, K. Naifar Council Members, MNDF Coast Guard, Marine Police-Maldives Police Service, Environmental Protection Agency, Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, Fish Purchasing Companies, Maldives Maine Research Institute, IUCN Maldives, and Maldives National University.

Minister  inaugurated the 'Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystems Project Phase 2'

މޯލްޑިވްސް މެރިން ރިސާރޗް އިންސްޓިޓިއުޓްގެ ފަރާތުން އިސްނަގައިގެން ދެ އަހަރުން އެއްއަހަރު ބާއްވަމުން ގެންދާ މޯލްޑިވްސް މެރިން ސައިންސް ސިމްޕޯސިއަމް ސީރީސް (އެމް.އެމް.އެސް.އެސް) ގެ 5 ވަނަ އިވެންޓްގެ ފެށުމުގެ ރަސްމިއްޔާތު މޯލްޑިވްސް ނޭޝަނަލް ޔުނިވާރސިޓީގެ ސެންޓްރަލް އޯޑިޓޯރިއަމްގައި  މިއަދު ބާއްވައިފިއެވެ. މި މަހާސިންތާ ރަސްމީކޮށް  ފައްޓަވައިދެއްވީ މިނިސްޓަރު އަހުމަދު ޝިޔާމެވެ.

ޖަލްސާ ޝަރަފުވެރިކޮށްދެއްވައި ވަޒީރު އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމް، ހާޒިރީންނާއި މުޚާތަބު ކުރައްވަމުން ، މި ސިމްޕޯސިއަކީ  ރާއްޖޭގެ ކަނޑާއި ފަޅުތަކުގެ ވަސީލަތްތައް އަދި އެމާހައުލުތަކުގެ ދިރުންތަކާއި ގުޅޭގޮތުން އެކި ފަރާތްތަކުން ކުރަމުންގެންދާ ދިރާސާ މަސަތްކަތްތައް، އެއްތަނެއްގައި ހިއްސާކޮށް މަޝްވަރާ ކުރުމުގެ ފުރުސަތު އަދި މި ޕްލެޓްފޯމެއް ތެރެެއިން  މުހިއްމު މަޢުލޫމާތައް ލިބިގެންދާނެކަން ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ. އަދި މިފަދަ ސިމްޕޯސިއަމްތަކުގެ ސަބަބު ސަރުކާރުގެ ސިޔާސަތު ކަނޑައެޅުން ފަސޭހަވެގެންދާނެކަން މިނިސްޓަރ ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ. 

މި އަހަރުގެ ސިމްޕޯސިއަމްގައި ހުށަހެޅާ ދިރާސާތަކުގެ ތެރޭގައި މުރަކަ އާއި ރީފް އިކޮލޮޖީ، ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އެކްއަކަލްޗަރ، ޝާކް އެންޑް ރޭސް، މެރިން މެގަފޯނާ، މެންގްރޫވްސް، ސީގްރާސް  އަދި ކަމާގުޅުންހުރި އެހެނިހެން މެރިން  ސައިންސާއި ބެހޭ ދިރާސާ ކަރުދާސްތައް ހުށަހެޅުމުގައި، ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ދިރާސާކުރާ ފަރާތްތަކާއި ޖަމްއިއްޔާތަކާއި ބައިނަލަޤްވާމީ ޖަމްއިއްޔާތަކާއި ޔުނިވަސިޓީ ދަރިވަރުން ހިމެނިގެންދާނެއެވެ.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam officially inaugurated the 5th Maldives Marine Science Symposium, hosted by Maldives Marine Research Institute. The seminar was scheduled from July 24 – July 25 at MNU Auditorium.

Speaking after the official inauguration ceremony, Minister Ahmed Shiyam highlighted the importance of the Marine Science Symposium, which will provide an invaluable platform for marine scientists to share their work through collaborations and drive forward the frontiers of marine science.

Furthermore, Minister also stated that MMRI has produced significant research on fisheries, Marine Ecosystems and Mariculture. The Institute’s Scientific outputs have been instrumental in shaping national policies and the Maldives engagements with regional bodies that manage various fisheries and ocean resources.

This year’s symposium, features of research papers on topics, covering coral and reef ecology, fisheries and aquaculture, sharks and rays, marine megafauna, mangroves, seagrasses, and other relevant marine subjects.

The symposium is attended by marines scientists, NGOs, students, marine biologist, MMRI staff, Independent researchers locally and internationally.

މޯލްޑިވްސް މެރިން ސައިންސް ސިމްޕޯސިއަމް 2024 ވަޒީރު އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމް އިފްތިތާހްކޮށްދެއްވައިފި

މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާ ބެހޭ ވަޒީރު އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމް އދ. ގެ ކާބޯތަކެއްޗާއި ދަނޑުވެރިކަމާބެހޭ ޖަމްޢިއްޔާ (އެފްއޭއޯ) ގެ މަސްވެރިކަމާބެހޭ ކޮމިޓީގެ 36 ވަނަ ޖަލްސާގައި ވާހަކަފުޅު ދައްކަވައިފިއެވެ.

އިޓަލީގެ ރޯމުގައި ކުރިއަށްދާ އެ ޖަލްސާގައި ވަޒީރު ވަނީ ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ދިގު ތާރީޚާއި ދިވެހި މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ތަރިކައިގެ މުހިންމުކަން ފާހަގަކުރައްވައިފައެވެ. ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވީ، އެ ޖަލްސާގައި ބައިވެރިވުމަކީ، ހަމައެކަނި ވަޒީފާގެ ޒިންމާއެއް ނޫންކަމަށާއި އެއީ އެ ބޭފުޅާގެ ކާބަފައިންނާއި، ވަޠަނުގެ ކަނޑުތަކާ ގުޅިފައިވާ އަމިއްލަ ދަތުރެއްކަމަށެވެ.

ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވީ، މަސްވެރިކަމަކީ ރާއްޖޭގެ އިޤްތިޞާދުގެ މައި އެއްތަނބު ކަމަށެވެ. އެގޮތުން މި ސިނާޢަތުގައި ރާއްޖޭގެ މަސައްކަތްތެރިންގެ 11 އިންސައްތަ މީހުން ވަޒީފާ އަދާކުރާއިރު، އެ ސިނާއަތް އަމާނާތްތެރިކަމާއެކު އަންނަން އޮތް ޖީލަށް ފޯރުކޮށްދޭން ޖެހޭ ކަމަށް ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ.

ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވީ، މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތައް ހިމާޔަތް ކުރުމަށް ރާއްޖެއިން މުހިންމު ގިނަ ފިޔަވަޅުތަކެއް އަޅާފައިވާ ކަމަށާއި ދެމެހެއްޓެނިވި މަސްވެރިކަމެއްކޮށް ދުނިޔެއަށް ރާއްޖެއިން އެކަމުގެ މިސާލު ދައްކުވާފައިވާ ކަމަށެވެ. ނަމަވެސް އެ މަސައްކަތް ރާއްޖެއަށް އެކަނި ނުކުރެވޭނެކަން ފާހަގަކުރައްވައި ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވީ، މިހާރު ކުރިމަތިވެފައިވާ ގޮންޖެހުންތަކުން އަރައިގަތުމަށް ޤައުމުތަކުގެ އެހީތެރިކަން ބޭނުންވާ ކަމަށެވެ.

ރާއްޖެ ފަދަ ކުދި އަދި ތަރައްޤީވަމުން އަންނަ ޤައުމުތަކަށް މަސްވެރި ސިނާޢަތުގައި ވިޔަފާރި ކުރުމަށް ހުރި ހުރަސްތަކަށްވެސް ވަޒީރުވަނީ އަލިއަޅުއްވާލައްވާފައެވެ. އެގޮތުން އެންމެ ބޮޑު އެއް ކަންބޮޑުވުމެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި ފާހަގަކުރެއްވީ ބައިނަލްއަޤުވާމީ މާކެޓަށް މަހުގެ ބާވަތްތައް ނެރުމުގައި ކުރަންޖެހޭ ޚަރަދުތައް ބޮޑުވުން ކަމަށެވެ. އެގޮތުން މަސް ބޭރުކުރުމަށް ރާއްޖެއިން ބޮޑު ޓެކްސްއެއް ދައްކަންޖެހޭކަމަށް ވަޒީރު ފަހަގަ ކުރެއްވިއެވެ. މިއާއެކުވެސް މަސް ޕްރޮސެސްކުރުމަށް ރާއްޖެއިން ރޯމަސް ދުނިޔޭގެ ބާޒާރަށް ނެރެން މަޖުބޫރުވެފައިވާ ކަމަށްވެސް ވިދާޅިވިއެވެ. ނަމަވެސް ރައީސުލްޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒުގެ ސަރުކާރުގެ އަމާޒަކީ މަހުގެ އަގު އެއްކޮށްގެން ރާއްޖެއިން މަސް ބޭރުކުރުންކަމަށާއި އަދި މި ހާލަތު ބަދަލުކުރަން ބޭނުންވާކަމަށް ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ.

ވަޒީރުގެ ވާހަކަފުޅު ނިންމަވާލައްވަމުން ވަނީ، ދެމެހެއްޓެނިވި މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރިއެރުވުމަށް އަޅަން ޖެހޭ ފިޔަވަޅުތައް އެޅުމަށް ދުނިޔޭގެ ލީޑަރުންނަށް ގޮވާލައްވާފައެވެ.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam attended the 36th Session of the Committee on Fisheries (COF136), held at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome from July 8th to 12th.

During his address, the Minister urged leaders to work together to eliminate trade barriers, particularly for fragile and vulnerable countries, such as Small Island Developing States like the Maldives. Minister highlighted the challenges faced by the country, which compel it to export raw materials to the global market  And intend to transform the situation under the guidance of His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. 

Minister Ahmed Shiyam also highlighted that approximately 11% of the country's workforce is engaged in the fisheries sector, contributing nearly 6% of the country's annual GDP. He emphasised that the Maldives is one of the highest fish-consuming communities in the world.

In addition, the minister emphasised the commitment to greening our fishery by investing in renewable energy. Aligned with the President's vision, the aim is to derive at least 35% of the energy used in our fisheries industry from renewable sources within the next four years.

 މި ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި މަޝްވަރާ ކުރެއްވީ، ޗައިނާގެ ސެކަންޑް އިންސްޓިޓުއުޓް އޮފް އޯޝަނޯގްރަފީ އާއި މިނިސްޓްރީ ގުޅުގެން މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ސިނާއަތުގައި އެއްބާރުލުން ބޭނުވާ ދާއިރާތައް ވަޒީރު އަޙްމަދު ޝިޔާމު ހިއްސާކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

A high-level technical delegation from the Second Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, China, met with Minister Ahmed Shiyam other senior officials of the Ministry.

The meeting was held at the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources this afternoon.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the expansion of future collaboration between the two Institutes.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam was accompanied at the meeting by Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aminath Shafia, the Director General, Dr. Hussain Sinan, and the Director General, Shafiya Nameem, and other senior officials of the Ministry.

އެ ބައްދަލުކުރެއްވުމުގައި ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވީ މީގެ ކުރިންވެސް ފުނައްޑޫ އޮޕަރޭޝަންނަށް ގެންނަން މަސައްކަތް ކޮށްފައިވާ ކަމަށާއި ނަމަވެސް އެއިރުވެސް އެކަން ނުކުރެވުނީ ޚަރަދުތައް ބޮޑުވުމުން ކަމަށެވެ. އަދި ރައީސް ޑރ. މުޙައްމަދު މުޢިއްޒުގެ ސިޔާސަތަކީ މީހުން ދިރުއުޅޭ ރަށްރަށުގައި މަސް ކާރުޚާނާތައް އެޅުން ކަމަށާއި އޭގެ ސަބަބުން ދިވެހިންނަށް ވަޒީފާއަށް ދެވޭނެ މަގު ފަހި ކުރެވިގެން ދާނެކަމަށެވެ.

ވަދު ކަނދިފަތި އެޅުމަށް ގިނަ ހުށަހެޅުންތަކެއް ލިބިފައިވާކަން ފާހަގަ ކުރައްވައި ވަޒީރު ވަނީ ވަދު ކަނދުފަތިތައް އިތުރު ކުރުމަށް ވުޒާރާއިން ކުރިއަށް ގެންދާ މަސައްކަތްތައް ހިއްސާކުރައްވައިފައެވެ.

އެ ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި ވަޒީރު ވިދާޅުވީ މަސްވެރި ސިނާއަތް ތަރައްޤީ ކުރުމަށް ދައުލަތަށް ވީހާވެސް ލުއި ގޮތްތަކެއް ހޯދުމަކީ މި ސަރުކާރުގެ އަމާޒެއްކަމަށާއި މި ވަގުތު އެންމެ އިސްކަމެއް ދެއްވަނީވެސް ވުޒާރާއަށް މަތިކޮށްފައިވާ މެނިފެސްޓޯ ތަންފީޒުކުރުމުގެ މަސައްކަތްކަމަށެވެ.

ވަޒީރު ޝިޔާމް ވަނީ ކުދި އަދި މެދުފަންތީގެ ވިޔަފާރިތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން މަސް ޕްރޮސެސްކުރުމުގައި އަންހެނުންގެ ދައުރު ފާހަގަކުރައްވާ، އެ ފަރާތްތަކަށް އެހީ ބޭނުންވާ ދާއިރާތަށް ހިއްސާކުރައްވާފައެވެ.

އިފާޑުގެ ކަންޓްރީ ޑިރެކްޓަރ ޝެރީނާ ތަބައްސުމް ވެސް ދިވެހި ސަރުކާރާއެކު އޮތް ގާތް ގުޅުމަށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރެއްވިއެވެ. އަދި ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ދާއިރާއަށް އެހީތެރިވުމަށް ވުޒާރާއާ ގުޅިގެން މަސައްކަތްކުރާނެ ކަމަށް ވިދާޅުވިއެވެ.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam, met with the Country Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Ms. Sherina Tabassum.

The Minister expressed gratitude to IFAD for their assistance in developing the fisheries sector and shared President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s vision for fisheries development, particularly focusing on the mariculture sector. Minister Shiyam also emphasised the important role of women in small-scale fish processing and stressed the need for further improvements in the industry.

Ms. Tabassum expressed her gratitude to the government for the close collaboration and IFAD’s strong commitment to supporting the development of the fisheries sector in the Maldives.

ސްޓޭޓް މިނިސްޓަރ ޑރ. ޢަމްޒަތު އަޙްމަދު ކޮލެޖް ފޯ ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޯޝަން ސައިންސްގެ ޑީން ޑރ. އަހުމަދު ރިޔާޒް އާއި ބައްދަލުކުރައްވައިފިއެވެ. 

މި ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި، މަސްވެރިން ތަމްރީނު ކުރުމާއި މަސްވެރި ސިނާއަތަށް ބޭނުންވާ މީހުން ބިނާކުރާނެ ދާއިރާތައް ދެނެގަތުމާއި، ތަމްރީނު ދިނުމާއި ހުނަރު އިތުރުކުރުމާއި، މިދާއިރާއިން ޑިގްރީ ފެންވަރަށް ކިޔަވައި ދިނުމާއި މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުތަކުގެ ދިރާސާކުރުމާ ގުޅޭގޮތުން ދެބޭފުޅުން މަޝްވަރާ ކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

The Minister for State of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Dr. Amzath Ahmed met with Dr. Ahmed Riyaz Jauharee, Dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences. 

The discussion centred on fishermen's training, identifying opportunities for developing talent for the fishing sector, training, skill development, degree-level education, fisheries, and marine research.

އޯގަނައިޒޭޝަން ފޯ އެފްރިކަން ކެރީބިއަން އެންޑް ޕެސިފިކް ސްޓޭޓްސްގެ (އޯ.އޭ.ސީ.ޕީ.އެސް)ކަނޑުތަކާ ބެހޭ މިނިސްޓްރީތަކުގެ ސީނިއަރ އޮފިޝަލުންގެ 8 ވަނަ ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި މިނިސްޓްރީ އޮފް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް އޯޝަން ރިސޯސަސްގެ ޑިރެކްޓަރ ޖެނެރަލް ޑރ. ޙުސައިން ސިނާން ދެއްކެވި ވާހަކަފުޅުގައި މަހުގެ ވިޔަފާރީގައި ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއަށް ކުރިމަތިވެފައިވާ އެންމެ ބޮޑެތި ގޮންޖެހުންތަކަށް އަލި އަޅުއްވައިލައްވައިފައިވެއެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން މަސްވެރިކަން ރާވައި، ހިންގައި، ބެލެހެއްޓުމަށް ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއިން ކުރަމުންގެންދާ މަސައްކަތްތަކާއި އަދި އަގު އެއްކޮށްގެން މަހުގެ އުފެއްދުންތައް އުފެއްދުމަށް ސަރުކާރުން ހިންގަވާ މަޝްރޫޢުތަކުގެ މައްޗަށްވެސް އަލި އަޅުއްވައިލައްވައިފައިވެއެވެ.

މީގެ އިތުރުން މޫސުމީ ބަދަލުގެ ސަބަބުން ދިވެހިރާއްޖެ ފަދަ ހަމަ އެކަނި އެ ގައުމެއްގެ އިޤްތިޞާދީ ސަރަޙައްދުގައި މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރާ ގައުމަތަކަށާއި ކުދި އުޅަނދުފަހަރުގައި ނިސްބަތުން ކުޑަ ސްކޭލެއްގައި މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރާ ފަރާތްތަކަށް ލިބޭ ގެއްލުން ކުޑަކުރުމަށް ފިޔަވަޅު އެޅުމުގެ މުހިއްމުކަންވެސް ޑރ. ސިނާން ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ. މިގޮތުން، ކަނޑުގެ މަތީ ފަށަލަ ހޫނު ވުމުގެ ސަބަބުންނާއި، ކަނޑުގައި ހުންނަ ލޮނުގެ އަސަރު (ސެލިނިޓީ) މަތިވެ، ކަނޑުގެ ލޮނުގަނޑާ އެކުވެފައި ހުންނަ އޮކްސިޖަންގެ މިންވަރު ދަށްވުމުގެ ސަބަބުންނާއި، ތޫފާން އަންނަ ނިސްބަތް އިތުރުވުމުގެ ސަބަބުން އެފަދަ ފަރާތްތަކަށް ކުރާ ނޭދެވޭ އަސަރު ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ. މީގެ އިތުރުން، މޫސުމީ ބަދަލުގެ ސަބަބުން ކަނޑުމަސް ފަދަ ދުރު ރާސްތާއަށް ހިޖުރަ ކުރާ ބާވަތްތައް ދަތުރުކުރާ މަގުތަކަށް ބަދަލުއައިސް، ކަނޑުމަސް ދިރިއުޅޭ ސަރަޙައްދުތަކަށް ވެސް ބަދަލު އަންނަ ކަން ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

އޯ.އޭ.ސީ.ޕީގެ މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުތަކާ ބެހޭ ވަޒީރުންނާއި ސީނިއަރ އޮފިޝަލުންގެ ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި އޯ.އައި.ސީ.ޕީގެ 79 ގައުމުގެ މަންދޫބުން ބައިވެރިވެ ވަޑައިގެންފައިވެއެވެ. މިމަހުގެ 9 ވަނަ ދުވަހު ފެށުނު މިބައްދަލުވުން މި މަހުގެ 13 ވަނަ ދުވަހާ ހަމައަށް ޓެންޒޭނިއާގެ ދާރުއްސަލާމްގައި ކުރިއަށްދާނެއެވެ. މިބައްދަލުވުމުގައި މަސްވެރިކަމާއި އަދި އެކުއަލްޗަރ ދެމެހެއްޓެނެވި ގޮތެއްގައި ރާވާ ހިންގައި ތަރައްޤީ ކުރުމަށް ގައުމުތަކަށް ކުރިމަތިވާ ދަތިތަކާއި ގުޅޭގޮތުން މަޝްވަރާކުރާނެއެވެ. ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއިން އޯ.އޭ.ސީ.ޕީގެ މެންބަރަކަށް ވެ، ސަމޯއާ އެގްރިމެންޓްގައި ސޮއިކުރުމުގެ މައިގަނޑު މަގުސަދަކީ ޔޫރަޕަށް އެކްސްޕޯރޓްކުރާ މަހަށް ނަގާ ޑިއުޓީ ކަނޑާލުމަށް މަގުފަހިކުރުމެވެ.

Maldives participated in the 8th Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), ministers and senior officials meeting on Oceans, Inland Waters, and Fisheries in Dar es Salaam  United Republic of Tanzania on  September 9 -11,  2024

Dr. Hussain Sinan, Director General of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Management, highlighted the severe impact of climate change on small-scale fisheries and urged the OACPS to enhance climate data sharing for better mitigation and adaptation. 

Maldives also addressed the challenges of developing a commercial aquaculture sector, particularly in achieving economies of scale, and stressed the need for targeted support for SIDS and the removal of trade barriers for small-scale fisheries.

އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުގެ އައްސޭރިފަށުގެ ގައުމުތައް ގުޅިގެން އެކުލަވާލެވިފައިވާ "ޖީ 16 – ގްރޫޕް އޮފް ލައިކް މައިންޑަޑް ކޯސްޓަލް ސްޓޭޓްސް" ގެ 36 ވަނަ ބައްދަލުވުން މިއަދު ބަޑޮސް މޯލްޑިވްސް ރިސޯޓްގައި ވަނީ ފަށާފައެވެ. ޖީ 16 ގެ އިންޓަރިމް ސެކްރެޓޭރިއަޓް ބަލަހައްޓާ ގައުމުގެ ހައިސިއްޔަތުން، މި ބައްދަލުވުން އިންތިޒާމްކޮށް ހިންގާފައިވަނީ، ވޯލްޑް ބޭންކްގެ އެހީއާއިއެކު، ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއިންނެވެ. އަދި މިބައްދަލުވުން އިފްތިތާހް ކޮށްދެއްވާފައިވަނީ މަސްވެރިކަމާއި ކަނޑުގެ ވަޞީލަތްތަކާބެހޭ ވަޒީރު އަހްމަދު ޝިޔާމްއެވެ.

ޖީ 16 ގެ މި ބައްދަލުވުމުގެ މައިގަނޑު އަމާޒަކީ އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުން އެކި ޤައުމުތަކަށް ކަނޑުމަސް ބޭނޭނެ މަތީ މިންވަރު ކަނޑައެޅުމާއި ބެހޭ ގޮތުން އިންޑިއަން އޯޝަން ޓޫނާ ކޮމިޝަން (އައި.އޯ.ޓީ.ސީ) އަށް ހުށަހަޅާފައިވާ ގަރާރާއިމެދު މިގައުމުތަކުގެ މެދުގައި މަޝްވަރާކޮށް، އެއްބަސްވުމަކަށް އައުމެވެ. ޖީ 16 ގެ މި ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި މި ގަރާރާއިމެދު އެއްބަސްވުމަކަށް އާދެވިއްޖެނަމަ، އަންނަ އަހަރުގެ އައި.އޯ.ޓީ.ސީގެ އަހަރީ ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި މި ގަރާރު ފާސްކުރުމަށް ހުށަހެޅޭނެއެވެ. ދެދުވަހުގެ މި ބައްދަލުވުމުގައި ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އިތުރުން އޮސްޓްރޭލިއާ، ބަންގްލަދޭޝް، ކޮމޮރޮސް، އީރާން، ކެންޔާ، މެލޭޝިއާ، މޮޒަމްބީކް، ސްރީ ލަންކާ، ސައުތް އެފްރިކާ، ޓެންޒޭނިއާ އަދި ތައިލެންޑް ގެ މަސްވެރިކަމާބެހޭ ވުޒާރާގެ ފަރާތުން ބައިވެރިވެއެވެ. އަދި މީގެ އިތުރުން، އޮބްޒާވަރުންގެ ގޮތުގައި ވަރލްޑް ވައިޑް ފަންޑް ފޮރ ނޭޗަރ (ޑަބްލިއު.ޑަބްލިއު.އެފް)، ސަސްޓެއިނަބްލް ފިޝަރީޒް އެންޑް ކޮމިއުނިޓީސް ޓްރަސްޓް (އެސްފެކްޓް) އަދި ސައުތް ވެސްޓް އިންޑިއަން އޯޝަން ޓޫނާ ގެ ފަރާތުން ބައިވެރިވެފައިވެއެވެ.

މި ބައްދަލުވުން ހުޅުވާދެއްވުމުގެ ގޮތުން ވަޒީރު ޝިޔާމް ދެއްކެވި ވާހަކަފުޅުގައި އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުގެ ކަނޑުމަހުގެ މަސްވެރިކަމަށް އެންމެ ބޮޑަށް ބަރޯސާވެފައިވާ އެއް ޤައުމަކަށް ދިވެހިރާއްޖެ ވާއިރު، ކޮންމެ ޤައުމަކަށް ބޭނޭނެ އެންމެ މަތީ މިންވަރު ކަނޑައެޅުމުގައި ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ އިޤުތިޞާދަށާއި، މަސްވެރިކަމުން ވަޒީފާގެ ފުރުޞަތުތައް ހުރި މިންވަރަށާއި، މަސްވެރި އާއިލާތަކަށް ކުރާ އަސަރު ވީހާވެސް ކުޑަވާނެ ގޮތަކަށް މިކަމުގެ މަޝްވަރާތައް ކުރިއަށް ގެންދިއުމުގެ މުހިންމުކަން ފާހަގަކުރެއްވިއެވެ. އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުގެ ކަނޑުމަހާއި ކަނޑުމަހުގެ ބާވަތްތައް ދެމެހެއްޓެނެވި ގޮތެއްގައި ބެލެހެއްޓުމަށް އައި.އޯ.ޓީ.ސީގެ މެންބަރު ޤައުމުތަކުގެ މެދުގައި އިންޑިއާ ކަނޑުގެ ކަނޑުމަހުގެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގައި މަސް ބޭނޭނެ މިންވަރުތަކެއް ކަނޑައުޅުމަށް އަލޮކޭޝަން ރެޖީމެއް ކަނޑައެޅުމަށް މަޝްވަރާކުރާތާ މިހާރު ވަނީ 14 އަހަރުވަނީ ވެފައެވެ.

The 36th Session of the G16 Like-minded Coastal States of the Indian Ocean held in Maldives, Bandos Island Resort.The Minister Ahmed Shiyam inaugurated the event and, in his remarks, 

emphasised the G16's crucial role in amplifying the voices of the coastal states and ensuring their rights are accounted for in every decision taken to manage tuna stocks in the Indian Ocean.
