Minister Ahmed Shiyam met with Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Faisal, to discuss the establishment of new sports fishing harbors in five areas in the Maldives. This project aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's policy aimed at diversifying the fisheries sector.

The project aims to facilitate sports fishing, which is becoming an increasingly popular activity among Maldivian youth. Minister Shiyam outlined the five proposed areas for harbor development and emphasised that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu places high priority on the development of mariculture and increasing local production.

Minister Faisal expressed full commitment to expanding the project and ensuring collaboration from the Tourism Ministry. He also assured that technical experts will be provided to support the tourism component of the project.
