Biography

Uza. Shafeega Naeem is a devoted public servant, who commenced her career as an administrative officer (later renamed as Employee Relations Officer) in government service at the Civil Service Commission of the Maldives in the year 2008. Her unwavering dedication and commitment to public service have propelled her through various roles, showcasing her exceptional skills and expertise.

In 2016, she changed her job to a pivotal role as a Legal Officer within the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, where her legal acumen and commitment to regulatory excellence became apparent. She was subsequently transferred to the Ministry of Education in 2020 as a Senior Legal Officer. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of legal work, contributing significantly to the development and enforcement of regulations within her respective ministries.

Academically accomplished, Uza. Shafeega holds an Advanced Certificate in Shariah and Islamic Studies from Villa College/ Maldives. Her pursuit of knowledge further led her to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Shariah and Law from the Islamic University of the Maldives. Undeterred in her quest for academic excellence, she achieved a Master of Law from the Maldives National University. Currently, she is in the final year of her Ph.D. at the Management and Science University in Malaysia, focusing on enriching her academic life.

Uza. Shafeega’s diverse educational background and extensive experience within various government organizations show her versatility and strong commitment to the development of the country. Her active involvement includes playing a key role in shaping and implementing policies that greatly impact the management and maintenance of the nation’s fisheries and ocean resources.
