Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabian Company, ROS For Trading Company, to establish a 500-tonne cold storage facility in M. Mulaku.
The agreement was signed between the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources and ROS For Trading Company of Saudi Arabia.
At the time, Director, Financial Controller, Eenas Naseer signed on behalf of the Ministry, while Deputy Director Hamad Mohammed Al-Min Hali signed on behalf of ROS For Trading Company.
According to the agreement signed today, 300 days have been allocated for the completion of the facility, including the design work. The total project cost is estimated at USD 5.188 million.
Minister Ahmed Shiyam as the chief guest of the event. highlighted the challenges faced by fishermen, and the establishment of the cold storage will mitigate the challenges encountered by fishermen to get the ice. Under this project, the 500-tonne cold storage facility will be constructed with the capacity to brine freeze 50 tonnes of fish per day.
