The Ministry holds high-level meeting with FAO SCOPE Mission to enhance collaboration on sustainable food systems.

Ministry had a high-level meeting with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) SCOPE Mission (Sustainability, Capacity-building, and Operational Performance Enhancement) to discuss strengthening collaboration on sustainable food systems.

The discussion focused on enhancing collaboration to develop resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems in alignment with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Permanent Secretary Dr. Aminath Shafia highlighted the current challenges facing the Maldives, future areas of work, opportunities to enhance collaboration, and areas of assistance that the country can access through FAO's support.

The Permanent Secretary was accompanied at the meeting by Director Fiuna Rashid from the Ministry.

The FAO delegation included Xiangjun Yao, Director (OSL), accompanied by Victor Mol, Policy/Programme Officer (FAORAP), Nalin Munasinghe, Assistant FAO Representative (FAOLK); and Adriano Spinelli, Policy Specialist SCOPE – SIDS (DDC).
