Minister Ahmed Shiyam Meets with Professor Paola Galli to Discuss Strategic Marine Research Partnerships

Minister Ahmed Shiyam held a productive meeting with Professor Paola Galli, a Marine Ecologist and Director of the MaRHE Centre at the University of Milano-Bicocca (UMB), to discuss strategic partnerships in marine research and capacity building.

The discussions focused on strengthening the technical capabilities within the Maldives' fisheries and ocean resource sectors through educational and research initiatives. The meeting highlighted the UMB's research outpost located at Faafu Magoodhoo, which serves as a critical platform for ongoing marine research.

Discussions centered on collaborative frameworks that would strengthen technical expertise and promote knowledge exchange between Maldivian institutions and international research centers.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam was accompanied by Permanent Secretary Dr. Aminath Shafia and Director Fathimath Fiuna during the meeting.
