Minister Ahmed Shiyam had a meeting with the chairman, Mr. Li Jianhua of Dongfang Electric International Corporation, and a senior delegation to discuss the work programme for the recently signed memorandum of understanding (MOU).

The MOU aims to develop processing plants in Lh. Felivaru, Dhaalu Atoll, and Gdh. Fiyoaree. During the meeting, the minister emphasized the need for project designs that focus on innovation, automation, and green energy.

This would help in making our fishery the cleanest and greenest fishery in the world. The chairman assured the minister that Donfang Electric would prioritise the project and aim to complete it by the end of 2025.
