President Dr Mohamed Muizzu officially inaugurates ice plant in Sh. Funadhoo.

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated an ice plant in Sh. Funadhoo today, as part of his ongoing visit to the islands of Miladhunmadulu Uthuruburi.

The ice plant has the capacity to produce 30 tonnes of ice daily, with storage facilities capable of holding up to 50 tonnes.

The Government has set a target to establish more ice plants across various regions of the Maldives within the next two years.

One of the main challenges faced by fishermen is limited access to ice, which is essential for preserving the quality and freshness of their catch.

Once completed, these projects will solve the problem of ice accessibility for fishermen.
