Yellowfin Tuna Purchase at MVR 25 Per Kilo at " Kudoiygiri Fish Village "

Minister Ahmed Shiyam has announced that K. Kanduoiygiri has commenced the purchase of yellowfin tuna at a rate of MVR 25 per kilogramme. The Minister made this announcement during an official visit to K. Kanduoiygiri.

Speaking during the visit, Minister Shiyam emphasised that His Excellency, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu places high priority on addressing challenges within the fisheries industry and improving the livelihoods of fishermen across the Maldives.

Minister also stated that “Since this government assumed office, skipjack tuna fishermen have witnessed improvements”.

He further stressed that the government is paving various pathways to increase fishermen’s income, noting that its primary objective is to transform fishing into a profitable and sustainable industry.
