Minister Ahmed Shiyam met with the Chinese Seafood and Aquatic Products Business Delegation, comprising representatives from various Chinese seafood companies. The discussion focused on the China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement (CMFTA), with particular emphasis on opportunities for Chinese companies to import fish and aquatic products from Maldives.

The CMFTA will provide an excellent platform for our fisheries sector to enabling access to the Chinese market, and enhance the bilateral trade relationship between the Maldives and China.
