TransFORM Project Hosts Fourth Implementation Support and Restructuring Mission in the Maldives

The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources (MoFOR), in collaboration with the World Bank, is currently hosting the Fourth Implementation Support and Restructuring Mission for the Transforming Fisheries Sector Management in the South-West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives Project.

The mission, taking place from June 1 to 7, 2025, aims to strengthen project performance and guide the restructuring process to maximize impact and effectiveness.

Led by Lan Thi Thu Nguyen, Task Team Leader, the mission includes a multidisciplinary delegation of World Bank experts. It also brings together counterparts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, the Maldives Marine Research Institute, and other key institutions.

Throughout the week, the mission team engages in technical discussions to review implementation progress, refine investment priorities, and identify strategic adjustments for restructuring the project to better align with national and regional fisheries development goals

TransFORM continues to serve as an important initiative in advancing sustainable fisheries development in the Maldives, supporting national priorities through innovation, capacity building, and strong institutional collaboration.
