Strengthening Fisheries Cooperation Between Saudi Arabia and Maldives

Minister Ahmed Shiyam welcomed His Excellency Yahya Hassan Alqahtani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for a productive meeting at the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources.

Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties in the fisheries and blue economy sectors.

The Minister expressed his gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s continued support through the Saudi Fund for Development, particularly for key investments in harbour development and cold storage facilities in M. Mulah and GA. Kooddoo. Minister also reaffirmed his commitment to advancing collaboration in trade, research, and conservation.
