މި ސަރަހައްދުގައި ޤާނޫނާއި ގަވައިދާ ޚިލާފަށް މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރުން ހުއްޓުވުމަށް ދެ ގައުމު ގުޅިގެން މަސައްކަތް ކުރުމަށް އެމެރިކާއާއި ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއާއި ދެމެދު މަޝްވަރާކޮށްފި އެވެ.

އެމެރިކާއިން ދިވެހިރާއްޖެއަށް ކަނޑައަޅުއްވާފައި ހުންނަވާ ސަފީރު، ހޫގޯ ޔޫ-ހޯ ޔޮން  މިއަދު ވަނީ މަސްވެރިކަމާ ކަނޑުގެ ވަސީލަތްތަކާ ބެހޭ ވަޒީރު އަހުމަދު ޝިޔާމްގެ އަރިހަށް އިހުތިރާމްގެ ޒިޔާރަތެއް ކުރައްވާފައެވެ. މި ޒިޔާރަތުގައި ދެ ގައުމު ގުޅިގެން މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ދާއިރާގައި ކުރެވެން ހުރި މަސައްކަތްތަކާ ގުޅޭ ގޮތުން ވަރަށް ފުޅާ ދާއިރާއެއްގައި ވަނީ މަޝްވަރާކުރައްވާފަ އެވެ.

މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ދާއިރާގައި ދެ ގައުމުގެ އެއްބާރުލުން ހަރުދަނާކުރުމާއި، އިންވެސްޓްމަންޓް ފުރުސަތުތައް ހޯދުމާ ގުޅޭގޮތުންވެސް ދެ ބޭފުޅުން މަޝްވަރާކުރެއްވިއެވެ.

މީގެއިތުރުން މި ސަރަހައްދުގައި ގަވައިދާ ހިލާފަށް، މަސްވެރިކަން ކުރުން ހުއްޓުވުމަށް ދެ ގައުމު ގުޅިގެން ކުރެވެންހުރި މަސައްކަތްތައް އިތުރުކުރުމާ ބެހޭ ގޮތުންވެސް މަޝްވަރާ ކުރެއްވި އެވެ.

Ambassador of the United States to the Maldives His Excellency Hugo Yue-Ho Yon paid a courtesy call on Minister Ahmed Shiyam. 

Discussion was focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fisheries sector, exploring investment opportunities, and enhancing joint efforts to address Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing.
